Last summer, we were driving the long haul to Cape Cod for a long weekend. My then almost-3 year old son, who is rarely a sick kid and not much for dramatics with illness, told us his belly hurt. We were literally a mile from our destination so we told him to relax and we'd be there in a minute. He started to cry that his belly really hurt, so my husband had the good sense to pull over and told me to quickly get him out of the car and put him down. I didn't want to just plop his bare feet onto the dirty sidewalk, so I picked him out of the car and held him. He proceeded to throw up all over me and him. My husband couldn't help a "told ya so," and he was right...lesson learned!

Re: Apparently a parent

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

Ruth

http://ramupgrade.info

Re: Apparently a parent

Ah, memories. I remember when my daughter, age 6, came into my bathroom one evening and managed to cover the entire room with, um, stuff. It had to be seen to be believed. If she had thrown up on ME, I could have at least stepped into the shower. I still don't understand how she missed the toilet while hitting every other exposed (and unexposed) surface.....

Re: Apparently a parent

It does get better as they get older. Most of mine make it all the way to the bathroom and even to the toilet. I know it doesn't make it any easier right now, but, yes indeed, it will get better. I highly recommend investing in one of those great Bissell carpet cleaners though :-)

Re: Apparently a parent

She better not make me a "parent" in California. Haha

Re: Apparently a parent

I feel for you, it's so hard to see them sick. We always keep a "bucket" on each floor and now we have them trained to grap that or get into the bathroom. My youngest is actually pretty good at getting into the bathroom quick. Sorry to hear she is still sick. When all mine went to their first year of "school" it seemed like we where at the Dr's office all the time. It gets better.
