One day we are identifying with a certain ideal, and the next day, another. Generally polar opposites. I work in an office that represents the stats you presented pretty much right on, about half of us are childless, of the folks that have children, two are married and the balance are single parents, unmarried parents or divorced.  Lucky for our generation, there are many ideals to fit into and all very interesting.
